Remove silence without cutting words
Long silent gaps make a talk, class or story feel slow, and cutting each one by hand takes ages. Echoly finds every pause longer than the length you choose and shortens it automatically, while leaving the normal short breaths between words untouched.
Two simple settings
"Pauses longer than" decides which gaps count as too long; one second works for most speech. "Shorten them to" decides how much silence stays; half a second sounds natural, and the smallest setting removes the gap almost completely for a fast, tight edit.
Listen before applying
The result plays live while you move the sliders, so you can check that sentences still breathe. If the speaker sounds rushed, raise "Shorten them to" a little.
Only part of the file
Select a section first to remove silence just there, for example in a long question-and-answer part, and keep the rest untouched.

Questions about the silence remover
Will it remove quiet words too?
It only shortens stretches that stay quiet for longer than your chosen length, so short soft words are kept.
How much time does it save?
For a typical talk with thinking pauses, often 5 to 15 % of the total length.
What if there is background noise in the pauses?
Remove the noise first with the noise remover so the pauses are detected more reliably.
Can I undo it?
Yes. Press Ctrl+Z, or the Undo button on phones, to get the original back.
